Robotics continues to play a key role in the effort to go green. In addition to adopting green practices, student teams at FIRST have the opportunity to raise funds and empower their communities with FIRST Green Fundraising. FIRST Green Fundraising is a multi-part program where teams can organize and sponsor their own green recycling programs, including electronic recycling and the sale of energy-efficient light bulbs, and help defray their costs in the process. FIRST announces the introduction of the FIRST Green e-watt saver, a fast, easy way to raise funds for FIRST teams. To begin the initiative, FRC and FTC teams have an opportunity to sell an exclusive, state-of-the-art, 7-watt/450 lumen LED light bulb that replaces up to a conventional 60-watt household light bulb - with a high-performance bulb that features longer life and significantly lower energy consumption. FIRST is working with a vendor to initiate a major "green" initiative that addresses the growing environmental problem associated with the disposal of electronic devices while, at the same time, offers an exciting new funding opportunity for FRC teams. Green e-cycle will enable FRC teams to collect a broad range of used electronic devices that can be converted into funds that will support your FRC program. This initiative is an all-around win for teams, their communities, and the environment.
Devices to Collect (95 KB) - Teams can collect a broad variety of used electronic devices: cell phones, PDAs, laptops, video game consoles, etc.

The energy audit that your team will perform will provide business owners with a detailed account of many actions that they may take to significantly reduce their business energy use and save money.
