Local Kickoff Information

Check the list below for 2011 Local Kickoffs in your area. Teams may register for a Local Kickoff through TIMS, but  must call or email the main contact directly to register for workshops.  Capacity varies for each location listed below, so please ensure your team’s TIMS record reflects an accurate number of attendees. Registrations are first come, first served.

Everyone attending a Kickoff event is required to complete a FIRST Consent and Release form. Attendees under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian's signature on the form. To to download and print a paper copy, please visit the FIRST Student Team Members System and Consent/Release web page. Attendees at a FIRST Local Kickoff may be videotaped or photographed for promotional purposes.
 
Please remember that FIRST does not oversee or control the setting or activities at the Local Kickoffs.  We at FIRST count on the Local Kickoff Coordinators and you, the participants, to provide a safe environment and to make this a positive experience for all attendees.

Kit of Parts Facts for Teams:

Teams that have not paid their initial registration fee will not receive a KOP.

When registering in TIMS you may select to have your Kit of Parts (KOP) shipped to either a Local Kickoff or to your team shipping address. 

Teams that choose to pick up their KOP at a Local Kickoff will receive a KOP receipt when they arrive at that location. An adult mentor must sign and return the KOP receipt during kit distribution.  Kits will not be released to student members of the team. 

If you have selected to have your KOP shipped direct to your team shipping address, and also chose to attend a Kickoff, you will not receive a KOP receipt at the kickoff. The shipping and tracking documentation for shipments to a team shipping address will provide proof of receipt.

If a team is unable to pickup its KOP at the Local Kickoff selected, an alternate team may be designated to do so. The team unable to attend must be registered to pick up their kit at the kickoff AND provide FIRST with an authorized Surrogate Kit Pickup letter, signed by the main or alternate contact, on school or sponsor letterhead that includes: 1.) Your team number 2.) the KOP pickup location; and 3.) the name and team number of the surrogate team picking up the KOP. All Surrogate Kit Pickup letters must be received at FIRST by January 3, 2011.
